Every child is unique.

As a parent, it’s natural to wonder about your child’s development—especially when comparing them to other children.

While most differences are perfectly normal, sometimes delays in key developmental milestones could benefit from Early Intervention services. If you're concerned, Kids on the Move (KOTM) is here to help guide you, providing support, answers, and personalized care for your child during these critical early years.

An innovative approach and expert guidance from KOTM.

How Do I Know if My Child Needs Early Intervention?

It’s not always easy to know when a child’s differences are a natural part of their development or something that requires support. Early Intervention can be a great resource if your child is experiencing delays in areas such as:

  • Physical development
  • Vision and hearing
  • Feeding
  • Social and emotional development
  • Communication and language
  • Learning, problem-solving and play skills

Remember, you don’t have to navigate this alone. If you have concerns about your child’s progress in any of these areas, let’s connect. The earlier we can identify developmental needs, the greater the impact Early Intervention can have.

Who is Eligible?

Customized Treatment From Passionate Caregivers

At Kids on the Move, we understand that trusting someone with your child’s development is a big decision. Here’s why families trust us:

Personalized, In-Home Care

We provide tailored care, focusing on your child’s unique needs. Most services are delivered in the comfort of your home, allowing your child to learn and develop in familiar surroundings. We work around your family’s schedule to make the process as stress-free as possible.

Trusted Experts

Our team of licensed therapists, specialists, and educators are experienced in helping children overcome developmental challenges. We partner with families every step of the way, ensuring that parents are empowered with knowledge and support.

Ongoing Support

Early Intervention isn’t a quick fix. We recommend staying with the program for at least a year, as consistency is key to progress. We’re here for the long haul, working closely with you to track your child’s development and adjust their plan as needed. Our goal is to see your child flourish!

Fun & Engaging

Therapy should be fun! We use play-based approaches that engage your child’s interests, making therapy something they look forward to. Parents love seeing their child’s growth while participating in joyful activities that stimulate their development.

Getting Started with Early Intervention

Once your child is accepted into the Early Intervention program, you can expect the following:

comprehensive in-home evaluation

Discovering where your child excels and what they find challenging are the first steps in helping them develop new skills. The initial evaluation will be tailored to meet your family's needs, as we will administer a nationally accepted test and observe your child in your home. With your permission, we may ask you to collect any relevant information from other professionals, such as your family doctor.

health screening

A registered nurse will visit your home to conduct a health, hearing, and vision screening as part of the overall assessment. Once we understand the status of your child’s health, hearing, and vision, we can determine eligibility for Early Intervention and, from there, design the services needed.

Individualized Plan for Your Child

With the help of your Early Intervention team, you, the parent, can develop an Individualized Family Service Plan. This plan includes goals for your child and family, as well as the services and support needed to achieve them. Goals might involve reaching a developmental milestone, improving interaction with siblings, finding parental support, and more!

Continual Communication and Evaluations

Your Individualized Family Service Plan will be reviewed and updated every six months. Our hope is that you feel supported throughout this process.

We’re ready to take the first step!
