Joe “Buster” Peterson, Vice President of Grant Strategy and Operations at Kids on the Move, brings both professional expertise and personal experience to his role. After his son was born prematurely and received Early Intervention services, Joe was inspired to shift his career path, earning a degree in Family and Human Development and later a Master’s in Public Administration. His unique perspective—balancing child development with nonprofit administration—allows him to navigate the complexities of funding and operations while staying deeply connected to KOTM’s mission. Joe finds the most fulfillment in collaborative problem-solving, working alongside experts from diverse fields to ensure families receive the individualized support they need. With a strong belief that kindness and love transcend all barriers, he is committed to expanding access to essential resources so every child and family can thrive. Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with his family, snowmobiling, mountain biking, playing games, and taking walks with his wife. He also has a love for ice cream shakes (Butterfinger, specifically), good food, and bringing a sense of fun into everything he does.
