Hope in Motion
A Global Movement to Change Healthcare Standard for Children With Disabilities
Hope in Motion Movement

A global movement by Kids on the Move to revolutionize care, shift mindsets, and raise the standard for children with disabilities and vulnerabilities.

Every Child Deserves a chance

Too many children with disabilities and vulnerabilities are overlooked. You can help change the story — from one of limitations to one of hope.

Kids on the move, hope in motion movement, children with disability still have unlimited possibilities

The Problem

The World Tells Them What They Can’t Do. We Show Them What’s Possible.

Children with disabilities and vulnerabilities are often left behind — misunderstood, underestimated, and unsupported. Families fight every day for access, dignity, and hope, often without a roadmap. This isn’t just a gap in care, it’s a gap in perspective.

Around the world, families are told what their child won’t be able to do, instead of being shown what they could do with the right support.

Nearly 1 in 6 children in the U.S. face developmental challenges, but many families lack access to coordinated, timely support. (CDC)

61% of specialty care centers report wait times between 4 months to 1 year for evaluations and access to services. (CMS)

98% of U.S. school districts report special education shortages (NCPSSERS).

Phase 1 — Change Global Perspectives

Before we build anything, we change everything

The first step isn’t concrete — it’s conviction. Phase 1 transforms how the world sees children with disabilities and vulnerabilities so every solution we create can take root in any culture, community, and family. Without this shift, Hope in Motion is a place. With it, Hope in Motion is a movement.

Why global perspectives matter.

  • The best ideas live everywhere — not in one country or model.
  • Listening first prevents one-size-fits-all care.
  • When we learn from each other, we create the right care for every child, everywhere.

What we’re doing.

  • Bring leaders to Utah: On our campus, visitors see inclusion in action — children leading, siblings learning together, families thriving. Perspectives change for good.
  • Outreach & co-creation: From family networks in Guatemala to resourceful therapies in South Africa and Indigenous wisdom in Australia, we design with communities, not for them.
  • Replace stigma with evidence-based hope: Training, research translation, and real stories that prove what’s possible.
  • Build lasting programs & family supports: More people and resources on the ground — parent coaches, mental-health care, interpreters, and navigation services — so families are never alone.
  • Share & scale: Toolkits, fellowships, and provider training that carry inclusion far beyond our walls.

Phase 1 is the foundation. Change the perspective and you change the future — so every child belongs, and every family is seen.

Goal: $10 Million

Phase 2 — The Campus — Where Dreams Take Shape

Phase 2A: Buy the Land

Secure a welcoming, centrally located site designed from the ground up for universal access, safe arrival, smooth navigation, and outdoor spaces where families can breathe, play, and belong.

Phase 2B: Build the Hope in Motion Global Campus

At Kids on the Move, we asked: What if everything a child and family needs lived under one roof — and one team?

“If there was a place where we could take Azure that had all of his therapists and services in one place — and could also take his younger brother — it would be my dream come true.”

A Living Laboratory of Hope

This is more than a facility. It’s a beacon of possibility — a place where care, inclusion, and research unite. Under one roof:

  • Integrated Care Model: Therapists, doctors, specialists, and educators collaborating in real time.
  • Whole-Family Wellness: Mental health, trauma-informed care, and nutrition programs that strengthen families.
  • Inclusive Art Museum: Creativity that centers children of all abilities and reframes what beauty looks like.
  • Research & Training Hub: Proven practices shared with providers worldwide.
  • Community & Play: Sensory-friendly spaces and universally designed playgrounds where every child belongs.

What Makes This Different

  • Integration, not isolation
  • Celebration, not pity
  • Whole-family healing, not fragmented care
  • Global learning, not local limits
  • Universal design that says: you belong here

Phase 2 isn’t just a building. It’s a blueprint for global change. Every dollar invested fuels a model that will touch not only one child or one family — but millions. The Hope in Motion Global Campus: where dreams don’t just take shape — they take flight.

Goal: $150 Million

Phase 3 — Lead With Hope

From one campus to a global movement

At the heart of Hope in Motion is a bold vision: replace shame and silence with voice and visibility — for every child, every family, every community. Building the campus is the start. Phase 3 makes sure what works inside our walls is shared far beyond them.

Why Phase 3 matters

The best models lose power if no one sees them. When proven solutions are shared, one child’s progress can spark change for millions. Phase 3 turns Hope in Motion from a place into a movement.

Our plan for impact

  • Inclusion Without Borders: A global storytelling campaign — short films, PSAs, and family voices — that reframes disability and vulnerability as possibility.
  • Elevate the Campus: Host leaders, families, and care teams for hands-on immersions and virtual tours so they can see inclusion in action and take it home.
  • Train the Next Generation: Fellowships, international trainings, and open-access toolkits that equip providers to carry hope forward — with an alumni network to sustain impact.

Phase 3 ensures hope doesn’t stop at the door — it travels. Your support helps the world see what’s possible when every child belongs.

Goal: $5 Million

WHY IT MATTERS

Be Part of the Movement That Changes Everything

Together, we won’t just build a building. We’ll build a future where hope moves everything.

Because belonging should never be a privilege.

Because every parent deserves to be seen, heard and supported.

Because when you empower one child, you transform generations.

"Every family comes to KOTM with a courageous story of hope and resilience, and from these stories, the vision for Hope In Motion was created."
